Enhancing Community Resilience and Sustainability (ECRAS) project is part of the Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF), a multi-Donor fund established by the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Resettlement and UNDP, which is aiming to increase the capacities of communities to sustain development gains and achieve improved well-being outcomes in the face of shocks and stresses.

Our Interventions

The project aims to build and strengthen Chiredzi and Mwenezi beneficiaries’ resilience capacities to withstand shocks and stresses in the face of climate change induced adversities. This will be through improving their absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacities.

 

Livestock Managemnet

Livestock are a crucial component in the livelihoods of the rural populace in Zimbabwe, especially in Mwenezi and Chiredzi districts. The ZRBF-ECRAS project has is promoting investments in livestock to build farmers’ resilience.

 

 

Nutrition sensitive agriculture

The project is encouraging diversified food production such as crop production, hoticulture and fish farming  contributing towards improved household nutrition.

 

 

Traditional grain production

The project is promoting high yielding varieties of traditional grains to assist communities to upscale thier produce thus increasing food security for families.
